First off…we had All Area club! It was AWESOME! We had over 130 kids in a basement from all over Rochester. We sang real loud, laughed real hard, and best of all, got to talk about Jesus. Pittsford met in the parking lot of the high school and we packed 5 or 6 cars full to ride over to club together. It was the best. I had the incredible privilege of giving the club talk at club. It was such a cool experience. If you know me at all, you know that I do not like to be in front of groups. I never have, and have always had trouble doing presentations in school. However, over the past 3 years, I have truly developed a love for giving club talks. It's a huge privilege and honor to get to stand before 130 high school students and just simply tell them about Jesus. I shared about the woman caught in adultery (John 8) and how she stood before people with her sin and deepest parts of her heart exposed. I shared how we often feel the same way, exposed before the world or the school. I got to share about mercy and grace, and the difference between the two and the way that Jesus extends both of those. The last part of that passage is when Jesus says: "Then neither do I condemn you. Go now and leave your life of sin." I shared that the mercy in this situation is the first part: Neither do I condemn you. And the grace: Go now and leave your life of sin. I encouraged them to ask their leaders how they have experienced grace & mercy in their relationship with Christ. It was an incredible experience, one I'm truly grateful for.
